The most important thing to Jack, is staying at home!

The most important thing to Jack, is staying at home!

With the help from the professionals at EDS Care, Jack is able to do just that. He has lived in his cottage since 1957 and he is still living there now, independently at home with the support from his carers. As is only to be expected,  Jack has aged over the years and some things have now become more difficult to achieve alone.

Elderly Care provided by EDS Care

Jack’s arthritis makes daily tasks, tricky and time consuming to complete – so Jack asked for support from the professionals EDS Care. EDS carers now visit Jack three times in a day starting with a visit in the morning when his carer supports him to get out of bed, have a wash and then to get dressed.

Jack’s main carer is Claire who visits him most mornings. He really appreciates Claire helping him to have a shave and pop on some of his favourite aftershave – just like he always has done.

Recently, Jack was advised by his Doctor to take particularly good care of his feet as he is a diabetic. Jack therefore asked his EDS carers to keep an eye on his feet with him. Every day, Claire makes sure that Jack has the correct cream on his feet and lower legs, that he walks with the assistance of his zimmer frame under Claire’s supervision to his favourite chair in the living room to ensure that “everything keeps on going”.

Charlotte loves her home care

Charlotte is a young women with two children and she is in a wheelchair.

Charlotte’s favourite thing in the world is her children, and she loves nothing more than to play with them. Unfortunately, Charlotte gets very tired completing the everyday chores of daily living, so she turned to EDS Care for their support and assistance.

Caring for Younger People

As we all know, keeping a house is hard work, so when Charlotte asked EDS Care to take over some of her mundane household chores leaving her with plenty of energy and time to play with her children we were delighted.

Charlotte’s professional EDS carer visits her for an hour each day. They work through the tasks that Charlotte has identified need to be done and then on most days they help Charlotte to prepare a nutritious home-cooked family dinner.

Charlotte finds that support she receives from EDS Care makes a huge difference with every day, week and month that passes. Recently she thanked us all with a lovely note that read: “the positive impact that you guys give us is incredible”. We are delighted to help Charlotte and in turn her family. Thanks to the home care Charlotte gets she can focus on the important role of raising her family rather than worrying about mundane domestic chores.

A little support makes all the difference to Maureen

For Maureen, it is the little things in life that really make the difference. She has always loved having “her day out”, which for the past 20 years has been on a Friday.

Every Friday Maureen would drive out to her favourite town, do some window shopping, pick up the groceries and then finish off the day with an hour at her favourite hair salon. Sadly, Maureen started to lose her sight last year so driving has had to stop, while picking out her groceries also become a challenge.

Lifestyle Support from EDS Care

Maureen being very eager to maintain a life style that she is accustomed to, Maureen asked EDS Care for support to maintain her lifestyle.

Every Friday, Maureen is picked up from her home and driven to her favourite town, with the assistance of her carer she wanders around the shops, together, they pick out her groceries and then as she always has, Maureen finishes her trip with an hour in her hair salon. When they arrive back at Maureen’s home, the EDS carer helps her to put away the groceries as they chat over the day and share a pot of tea.

Maureen loves the lifestyle support service that is provided by the professionals at EDS Care.
