The most important thing to Jack, is staying at home!
With the help from the professionals at EDS Care, Jack is able to do just that. He has lived in his cottage since 1957 and he is still living there now, independently at home with the support from his carers. As is only to be expected, Jack has aged over the years and some things have now become more difficult to achieve alone.
Jack’s arthritis makes daily tasks, tricky and time consuming to complete – so Jack asked for support from the professionals EDS Care. EDS carers now visit Jack three times in a day starting with a visit in the morning when his carer supports him to get out of bed, have a wash and then to get dressed.
Jack’s main carer is Claire who visits him most mornings. He really appreciates Claire helping him to have a shave and pop on some of his favourite aftershave – just like he always has done.
Recently, Jack was advised by his Doctor to take particularly good care of his feet as he is a diabetic. Jack therefore asked his EDS carers to keep an eye on his feet with him. Every day, Claire makes sure that Jack has the correct cream on his feet and lower legs, that he walks with the assistance of his zimmer frame under Claire’s supervision to his favourite chair in the living room to ensure that “everything keeps on going”.
